The 11th United Pangalites Drawing Competition took place on October 13, 2024, at Sports Bay in Al Karama, Dubai, attracting over 120 young artists eager to showcase their creative talents. The event, known for fostering artistic expression, featured four categories tailored to various age groups and abilities.
Competition Categories:
The event was honored by the presence of distinguished guests, including Mr. Joseph Mathias, Managing Director of Merit Freight Systems LLC, Mr. Nelson Rodricks, Mr. Dayan Dsouza, Founder of Daiji Dubai, and Mr. Ronald Fernandes. Their presence highlighted the community’s dedication to supporting young talent and promoting the arts.
The event began with a warm welcome from UPA President, Ms. Sweeny Dsouza, who set an uplifting tone for the day. The event’s emcee, Anica Dsouza, expertly guided the proceedings, ensuring an engaging and enjoyable experience for all attendees.
A panel of esteemed judges—Mr. Madhusudan, Ms. Jishamol Faizal, and Ms. Amrita Goplani—evaluated the participants' entries, praising their creativity, originality, and artistic talent. The high level of skill on display made selecting the winners a challenging task.
Winners were awarded certificates and trophies, presented by the judges and sponsors in acknowledgment of their exceptional artistry. The prize distribution was led by UPA core committee member and advisor, Mr. Joel Quadras, adding to the celebratory spirit. Additionally, every participant received a certificate of participation, and all were provided with meals, contributing to the joyful atmosphere of the event.
The event’s success was made possible through the generosity of its sponsors. Mr. Austin Barboza from HART Office and Stationery Supplies, Karama, graciously provided the trophies, while Mr. Ravi Rodrigues from Rushour Grill & Restaurant, Oud Metha, sponsored meals for all attendees.
