Annual General Body Meeting of Sezari Held on 28th July 2024

Bengaluru 7th Aug, 2024: The Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) of Sezari, Bommanahalli, Bengaluru, took place on 28th July 2024 at Royal Legend, Kaveri Nagar, Bengaluru. The event commenced at 5:45 pm with a prayer led by Leena Lobo.

President Victor Rodrigues extended a warm welcome to all attendees and guests, including Nigel Fernandes, Vice-President – FKCA, Sharon Rego, Cultural Secretary - FKCA and Vincent Dsouza, the Election Returning Officer and Joint Secretary – FKCA.

Secretary Mamatha Barboza presented the Annual Report for the year 2023-24. Treasurer Karon Mendonca, presented the Financial Report for the year 2023-24, which was approved by the general body.

During the meeting, Sezari members emphasized the importance of preserving Konkani culture, language, and heritage. They highlighted the need for active participation from Konkani families in all events organized by Sezari and suggested reaching out to more Konkani families in Bommanahalli, Begur, and Mangamanpalya.

The President welcomed Chief Guest Nigel Fernandes to address the gathering. He praised Sezari as one of the leading and most talented associations and encouraged more enthusiasm in all Sezari and FKCA activities. Mr. Fernandes acknowledged Sezari's instrumental support for FKCA’s events and expressed gratitude on behalf of FKCA. He also announced the launch of a Catholic Connect App, aimed at benefiting Christians across India, and a Catholic Matrimony app, which had already received 100 applications since its launch on 27th June 2024.

Cultural Secretary of FKCA, Sharon Rego, expressed her desire for Sezari to rise and bring back its charm. The AGM concluded with a vote of thanks by the outgoing president, followed by the election process conducted by Vincent Dsouza.

Edward Dsouza introduced the election returning officer, who is also the current President of Koncab. The following office bearers were elected:
● President: Anil Sequeira
● Vice President: Mamatha Barboza
● Secretary: Sunitha Albuquerque
● Joint Secretary: Gladis Lobo
● Treasurer: Sudeep Lobo
● Legal Advisor: Antony Mendonsa
● Ex-officio: Victor Rodrigues

Additionally, 14 executive committee members were elected. The incoming President, Anil Sequeira, thanked all members for their support and requested their wholehearted assistance during his tenure. Sunitha Albuquerque thanked the Election Returning Officer for conducting the election and all Sezari members for making the AGM successful.

The meeting concluded with thanksgiving prayers, followed by dinner.
