A documentary depicting the history of the Hospet Parish (near Moodbidri) has been released on Thursday 24th March 2022 on Daijiworld TV at 9 P.M. The Documentary named “The Story of Santa Cruz De Bidrem” also contains the history of Canara Catholics and their settlement in various regions of coastal Karnataka.

This short-movie is produced by a group of enthusiasts called “Ami Hospetgar Team” from Holy Cross Church Hospet, under the leadership of Parish priest and the parish council.

The story of the exodus of Goan Catholics to Mangalore and their settlement in various regions of Canara coast with a special attention on the parish of Hospet is narrated in the documentary. It speaks of their ordeals and ultimate triumph under these testing circumstances. The documentary is not just a historical record of the people living around the Holy Cross Church Hospet but also is a tale of victory of indomitable human spirit against all odds when guided by faith and unflinching will.
