In a noble initiative aimed at bolstering the academic prospects of rural government school students, the Konkani Christian Association (R) Mysuru hosted an SSLC Exam Preparation Camp on March 6th, 2024. Held at the prestigious Konkan Bhavan in Vijayanagar 2nd stage, Mysuru, the event proved to be a beacon of hope and support for students from Mysuru Taluk.
The day commenced with patriotic fervor as the State and National Anthems resonated through the venue at 10.30 am. Mr. John William D’souza, President of the Association, extended a warm welcome to the esteemed guests, setting the tone for an eventful day ahead.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by distinguished dignitaries, including Sri. H. K. Pandu, DDPI of the Department of School Education, Mysuru District, Sri Vivekananda M, Block Education Officer, Mysuru Rural, and Sri Yukteshananda Swamiji, Correspondent of Sri Ramakrishna Vidyalaya, Yadavagiri, Mysuru. The lighting of the lamp symbolized the commencement of an enlightening journey for the students.
Sri H. K. Pandu lauded the Konkani Christian Association for their commendable efforts in organizing the camp, emphasizing the significance of students' roles in both school and society. He urged them to embrace responsibility and strive for success in all endeavors. The Association expressed gratitude by honoring the DDPI for his valuable insights.
In his address, Sri Vivekananda M highlighted the government's support and encouraged students to excel academically, reminding them of the importance of perseverance and a positive mindset. He urged students to pursue their dreams with determination, assuring them of success despite any obstacles. The Association reciprocated his support by honoring him for his inspirational words.
Sri Yukteshananda Swamiji, representing the Ramakrishna Ashram, commended the Association's altruistic endeavors in the realm of education. He motivated students to embrace challenges with courage and assume responsibility for their actions. Drawing from wisdom, he shared the analogy of the Swathi pearl, emphasizing the value of seizing opportunities for knowledge. The Association conveyed their respect by felicitating the Swamiji with traditional tokens.
The event also featured insightful tips from resource persons aimed at empowering students in their respective subjects, instilling confidence and motivation for the upcoming exams. General Secretary, Joyce Sequeira, expressed gratitude to all involved, while Stany Lobo, Vice President, adeptly compered the proceedings.
As a gesture of support, the Association provided lunch, refreshments, and essential examination materials to 150 students, ensuring they are well-equipped for success.
