The Kuwait Canara Welfare Association convened its Extra-Ordinary General Body Meeting on Friday, 28th March 2025, at the Indian School of Excellence in Salmiya. The meeting began with an opening prayer led by Veena Serrao. The primary agenda was the election of the new Executive Committee for the 2025–2027 term.
KCWA President Naveen Valerian Mascarenhas extended a warm welcome to all members present at the meeting and expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the members, committee members and their families, donors, and sponsors for their unwavering support throughout his tenure. The minutes of the previous General Body Meeting held on 28th February 2025 were presented by General Secretary Reena Pereira. Praveen Fernandes shared the audited financial report. President Naveen Valerian Mascarenhas also highlighted the key achievements of the association during his 2023–2025 term. In his address, Spiritual Director Fr. Avil Rosario commended KCWA for its commendable work and contributions.
The Election Commission members—Alwyn Noronha, Lavina Furtado, and Naveen Valerian Mascarenhas—then initiated the proceedings for electing the new Executive Committee, which is as follows:

The audience applauded the newly elected committee with enthusiasm. Prakash Godwin Pinto, who will serve as KCWA’s president for the upcoming term, expressed his gratitude and appealed for everyone’s support and collaboration to ensure a successful tenure. The newly elected committee then took an oath to uphold and work towards the core motto of KCWA.
Naveen Mascarenhas warmly welcomed the visiting priest, Fr. Ronald Cardoza, with a bouquet of flowers. He then proposed the vote of thanks, expressing heartfelt gratitude to Spiritual Director Fr. Avil Rosario and Fr. Ronald Cardoza for their gracious presence. He also extended appreciation to Allan Dsouza and Harry Fernandes for the multimedia presentation, Alban Dsouza for managing photography and the projector, Anand Dsouza for handling the sound system, and Roshan Rodrigues for sound management. A special thanks was given to Blue Hill Restaurant for serving a delicious dinner and to all members who attended the meeting in large numbers, making the event a success.
Grace before meals was led by Fr. Ronald Cardoza. The meeting concluded with a prayer and hymn by Johnson D’Almeida. Vice President Arun Jossy Dsouza served as the moderator for the evening. Sincere thanks were also extended to the management of Indian School of Excellence, Salmiya, for generously providing the venue for the gathering.
