The Konkani Catholic Welfare Association (KCWA), RT Nagar, organized a pilgrimage to St. Anthony’s Basilica on March 19, 2025, with around 50 members participating in the spiritual journey.
The group assembled at early hours near St. Jude’s Church, where the pilgrimage commenced with a prayer seeking blessings for a safe journey. Participants then departed by bus, engaging in devotional singing and interaction during the travel.
The group halted for breakfast at Udupi Garden, where a traditional South Indian meal was served. The journey continued via Mysuru towards Doranahalli, and the group reached St. Anthony’s Basilica at around 11:45 AM.
At noon, participants gathered inside the Basilica to offer personal prayers. A special Holy Mass was celebrated at 12:30 PM by a priest from Bengaluru, marking a significant spiritual moment for the group.
St. Anthony’s Basilica, dedicated to St. Anthony of Padua, is a renowned pilgrimage center known for its serene surroundings and strong faith traditions. Devotees from across the state visit the shrine seeking blessings and intercession.
Following the Mass, lunch was arranged at a nearby venue. The group later returned to the Basilica premises to offer candles and prayers, while some participants visited the religious store. The Way of the Cross was conducted in Konkani, providing an opportunity for reflection. Tea was served before the group prepared for departure.
At 3:00 PM, the group began their return journey to Bengaluru. The return trip echoed the same spirit of joy and togetherness, filled with songs and shared moments. The group safely arrived back at the starting point at 6:30 PM.
Overall, the pilgrimage was a beautiful blend of faith, fellowship, and joy—leaving every participant spiritually enriched and grateful for the experience.
