What should I do? Who do you want me to be?
If I am quiet, you call me meek.
If I take the lead, you say I act like a freak.
If I laugh aloud, you look at me with a frown.
If I frown, you pester me to calm down.
What should I do? Who do you want me to be?
If I wear a short dress, you immediately question my morals.
If I decide to dress traditionally, you say I'm out of fashion.
If I choose to focus on building my career, I'm often seen as someone who lacks family
sentiments.
If I choose to stay at home, I'm labelled as lazy and less efficient.
What should I do? Who do you want me to be?
If I raise my voice to condemn something that's wrong, I'm labelled as Dominating.
If I choose to ignore it and live my life, I'm labelled a Feeble.
When I cry, I'm told to stand up and fight.
When I rise to try, I'm asked to sit down quiet.
What should I do? Who do you want me to be?
To a world that is constantly judging me,
It's time to realize,
I will never be the way you want me to be.
But I will be the way I am meant to be.
