The 52nd Annual General Meeting of Konkani Catholic Sangh (KCS) Yeshwanthpur
The 52nd Annual General Body Meeting of the Konkani Catholic Sangh (KCS) Yeshwanthpur was held on 10th August 2024 at Konkan Bhavan, Mathikere, Bengaluru. The event was conducted with great enthusiasm and served as a platform to reflect on the association’s community services, activities, scholastic achievements, and its continuous dedication to nurturing unity and fellowship within the community.
The evening commenced with a prayer service led by Rev. Fr. Sunil Kumar Dsouza, the spiritual director of KCS Yeshwanthpur. The prayer included a heartfelt remembrance of beloved departed members, setting a reflective and solemn tone for the proceedings.
Robert Cutinha, President of KCS Yeshwanthpur, welcomed the esteemed members of the Sangh and their families. Chief Guests Vincent Dsouza, President of Koncab and Joint Secretary of FKCA and Nanjunda Poojari Charted accountant were honored. FKCA past Chairmen Edward Victor D’Souza, Edward Anand D’Souza along with Cultural Secretary FKCA, Sharon Rego and our neighboring associations presidents were welcomed with a bouquet of flowers as a token of love.
The formal part of the AGM began with the reading of the minutes from the previous AGM, followed by the presentation of the Annual Report by Edward Crasta, Secretary KCS. The report highlighted the significant community services, activities, and achievements of the association over the past year.
Following the Annual Report, George Mascarenhas, Treasurer KCS, presented the financial statements for the year 2023-24. The balance sheet was discussed and approved by the members present, confirming the sound financial health of the association. The Chief Guests, Vincent Dsouza and CA Nanjunda Poojari, expressed their appreciation for the association’s continuous dedication to community services and its active participation in FKCA initiatives.
The AGM also featured the recognition of two distinguished members of the Sangh. Richard Dsouza was honored for his outstanding achievements and contributions to community services, while Paul Pinto, one of the founding members of KCS, was recognized for his exceptional service to the Sangh.
Additionally, those who achieved scholastic distinction in their respective academic pursuits were felicitated. The event was well-organized by the Master of Ceremonies, Kiran Dsouza, Joint Secretary KCS, who also introduced 11 new members to the Sangh.
Rev. Fr. Sunil Kumar Dsouza, President Robert Cutinha, Edward Victor D’Souza, Nanjunda Poojari, Vincent D’Souza, Edward Anand D’Souza, Edward Crasta, and George Mascarenhas were then welcomed to the dais. They each shared their perspectives on the need to carry forward the legacy of KCS, a 52-year-old association, and their ongoing commitment to its goals and aspirations. The speakers also underscored the importance of making a mark in the political arena and continuing these collective efforts. As a key highlight of the event, Edward Anand D’Souza emphasized the importance of staying united and preserving our traditions and language, while Edward Victor D’Souza spoke on the political front, stressing the value this brings to our community.
The audience enjoyed a variety of fun games, which added excitement to the evening. The event concluded with a delicious feast, featuring a selection of traditional mangalorean dishes. This meal brought back fond memories of familiar flavors and celebrated the region's culinary heritage.
