Life Begins at 40…… Does it ???

They say that the clock ticks faster after 40, and with each tick comes change. For those who manage to avoid major medical problems, the changes are slow and gradual, but they do add up. Here are some things that aging can do to you — if you give up, then Father Time is likely to take his toll.

Men get Naughty at Forty…. Yeah Men can get Naughty so much so that they get into “Creating Impression” mode. Some proving their worth to school and college mates, some getting the spirit of Casanova out of themselves, some working hard to make ends meet, either attending to family challenges or hammering away to provide a comfortable life to the wife and children, some attending to ailing parents, some spending their earnings at the poker table while the spirits continue to flow in, some building castles after castles and some others saving hard for a copious life ahead.

Most Women on the other hand run household responsibilities, get involved with their growing children in every way – their academic swotting, their personal care, their extra curricular activities be it music classes, dance classes, martial arts classes, sports training and mostly all of these, now a days. Mothers want to produce all rounders and in the process, will ensure they overturn every stone coming in the way… The present day woman is also an entrepreneur, apart from being homemakers probably wanting to bring in those extra bucks for the family to manage financial crunches or possibly to raise the bar on lifestyle, thereby owning a niche for herself, instead of having a regular daughter-of or wife-of tag. In many cases women too are on the driver’s seat in various industries, companies and multi nationals.

Most of us may fit into one or more of the above categories. As you dear men and women, run errands after errands, pause and ask this question “Where is the person “ I “, in all this” ? The answer is either within you or just around you. People you know of, in their 40s suffering brain strokes and cardiac issues, malignancy, chronic diseases of the liver, kidney, prostrate, cervix, intestines and more. With an alarming increase in such life threatening issues in this age group of 40s, it’s high time for some serious introspection.

Traditionally the man is called, the Pillar of the house, and its known to all what happens to a house if the pillar collapses. One needs to know the enemy well, but also know how to handle, and keep the enemy at bay. Cholesterol, kidney & liver complications, hair loss, dental issues, snags on the skin, and the list has just begun. The way to a Man’s heart is through his stomach but also Remember what goes to the stomach is most important not only for all those organs lying below the diaphragm, but also to keep the brain, bones, heart, eyes, lungs, ears, nose, limbs and skin in fine fettle.

The woman plays the role of a Mesne most of the time. She suffers from fatigue of the never ending work related and household chores, effects and after effects of childbirth, drain out caused into the efforts of upbringing worthy children, struggling with hormonal, menstrual and climacteric issues, weak joints and bones, and the list goes on.

On turning 40, its extensively necessary to Beat the Bulge, Flex some muscles, Hold your Nerves, Butt out, Adopt Fantastic Fiber, try to keep away from Stress and Anxiety, know your History and Get enrolled on Preventive Maintenance program, to start with. In other words, this is a crucial age and one must Stick to a collocated tab on your organ functions, take a swim or climb a hillock or play a perspiration sport atleast once a week, hit the gym, learn to shake a leg or two, take a holiday, meditate for just 5 minutes in a day, spend time with people who love and adore you, watch your diet, 3 minutes of kegal before a shower, water intake it is – to keep your body and skin hydrated, get a grooming done atleast once a month, keep a constricted lid on alcohol and the junk crate, quit smoking, listen to your body, build a strong and sane social network, watch your glabellar lines and above all stay content and cheerful. Spouses need to support and encourage each other. All of this may sound simple and doable, but may actually get challenging since one has to “Make Time and follow Regular Calendar Schedules”, for all this.

Additionally get hold of a good health insurance, and ensure that just like your vehicle insurance, this one too covers for bumper to bumper. When was the last time you glanced through your Bank Accounts, Investment on Property, shares and mutual funds to check if the KYC is in order as per the name and the other required details recorded are exactly as per Aadhar and PAN you posses. ? Have you ensured that your nominee details and their respective KYC details are in order ? Have you thought about Making A Will ? These are important “With you as well as After you” documents that will help your loved ones to move on with life, during an unprecedented situation. If you have not looked into these aspects yet, do it now, do it today….

Let’s not live in fear and anxiety Or totally be ignorant and Carefree, but rather Believe and Re-live in mind and body. Stop Existing and Start Living to the adage - Truly, Life Begins at 40…….
