Godfrey Sequeira Re-Elected as MUKA President


Nottingham, May 4 – Godfrey Sequeira has been unanimously re-elected as the President of the Mangalorean United Konkani Association (MUKA) for a second term at the 18th annual general body meeting held on March 31, 2024, at Cotgrave Club Hall, Nottingham, UK.
The meeting opened with a prayer for divine blessings. Godfrey Sequeira, in his welcome address, thanked the outgoing committee members for their dedicated service and praised the success of the recent Easter celebration.
Deepak Alvares presented the annual report for the past two years, and Lydia Lewis read the audited financial accounts for 2022-24, which were approved by the general body. John Fernandes oversaw the election process.

In his address, Sequeira congratulated the newly elected committee and expressed gratitude to the former members. He thanked the general body for their support and vowed to uphold MUKA’s legacy. Sequeira also called for active member participation to strengthen the association of Konkani speakers in the UK.
