KCWA Spearheads Successful Blood Donation Drive in Bengaluru

Konkani Catholic Welfare Association (KCWA) R.T Nagar, Bengaluru, in partnership with St. Jude's Church, R.T Nagar, and Aweksha - a Charitable Women's Trust, collaborated with Victoria Hospital Blood Bank, Bengaluru, to orchestrate a commendable blood donation camp on April 21, 2024, at St. Jude's Church hall, R.T Nagar, Bengaluru.

A dedicated team of 15 members from Aweksha and Victoria Hospital, Bengaluru, comprising doctors, nurses, and support staff, promptly assembled at 7:30 am to set up the camp and facilitate the blood donation process. Following a nourishing breakfast, they were fully prepared by 8 am to welcome donors with open arms.

Given the Sunday schedule, the camp attracted a steady stream of donors post the Mass, including enthusiastic KCWA members, eager to contribute towards this noble cause. KCWA members adeptly coordinated the logistics, ensuring a seamless experience for donors. Their efforts resulted in a turnout of approximately 40 individuals who graciously volunteered to donate blood, a gesture that was warmly received and deeply appreciated.

In recognition of their selfless act, successful donors were presented with certificates of appreciation from Victoria Hospital. The camp wrapped up at 1:30 PM on a note of gratitude and accomplishment.

Mrs. Donna Fernandes and Mr. Jesu Prashanth from Aweksha conveyed heartfelt thanks to the organizing team for their meticulous planning and dedicated service.

The doctor representing Victoria Hospital extended a certificate of appreciation and reward to KCWA, acknowledging their invaluable contribution to organizing a voluntary blood donation camp.

In turn, KCWA expressed gratitude to the entire Aweksha team and Victoria Hospital staff for their efficient management of the event. Special thanks were also extended to the Parish Priest for providing the venue and to the generous blood donors for their invaluable contribution.

The program concluded with a wholesome lunch served to all members of the Aweksha and hospital teams.

KCWA's successful organization of the event not only facilitated vital blood donations but also effectively raised awareness about the importance of this life-saving act, encouraging more individuals to come forward and donate blood.
